Load More and infinite scroll
Pro Feature
Requires WPEnhanced Ajax Filter Blocks Pro.
Overview
By default, Archive Loop uses standard pagination (page numbers). Pro adds:
- Load More button — Appends the next page of results below existing items
- Infinite scroll — Loads more automatically when the visitor scrolls near the bottom
Both modes respect active filters—appended results continue the filtered query, not the unfiltered catalog.
Enable Load More or infinite scroll
-
Select the Archive Loop block.
-
Open Pagination or Load more settings (Pro).
-
Enable Load More or Infinite scroll.
-
Configure:
- Button text (Load More) — e.g. "Load more products"
- Posts per load — Items per AJAX append (may inherit from posts per page)
- End message — Text when no more results
- Scroll threshold (infinite) — How far from bottom to trigger load
-
Save and test with filters applied.
Interaction with filters
When filters change:
- The loop resets to page 1 of the new result set
- Load More / infinite state restarts
divi_filter_completedfires after each append—re-init third-party scripts on new items
WooCommerce notes
After Load More appends product cards, WooCommerce variation forms may need re-initialization—the plugin triggers standard completion events; custom themes should listen for divi_filter_completed.
When to use which mode
| Mode | Best for |
|---|---|
| Standard pagination | SEO clarity, predictable page URLs |
| Load More | Editorial grids, portfolios |
| Infinite scroll | Social-style browsing, image-heavy shops |
URL sync with infinite scroll can be less granular than numbered pages—test URL sync if shareable deep links matter.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| Button does nothing | JS conflict; check console |
| Duplicate items | Cache serving stale JSON |
| Filters lost on load | Confirm Pro version; see Pagination loses filters |
